Music for love

dospiezasparapiano

The Maestro expressed his great love for his wife in many ways throughout his lifetime.
The “Dance on the Name of a Young Girl” has a long curious title and was conceived in 1930 as a New Year’s Eve gift to Joaquín Rodrigo’s fiancée, later his wife. With great libery, the following theme may be derived from the Anglo-Saxon nomenclature of the first 13 notes:

V I C T O R I A C A M H I
d c c b d g c a c a a b c

The ceremonious piece is an elegant, aristocratic dance taking the form of a minuet and trio.
